Teaching

With over 10 years of teaching experience and three advanced music degrees—including a master’s from New England Conservatory and a specialized degree in piccolo from San Francisco Conservatory of Music—I offer personalized flute instruction tailored to the individual needs of each student. My approach aims to build strong, confident musicians who enjoy the process of learning as much as the results.

My students have earned spots at top programs such as Boston University School of Music and UMass Amherst School of Music. They’ve also excelled in Massachusetts District competitions, including Eastern and Central Districts.

I believe that every student is unique, which is why I adapt my teaching to fit their individual needs. I also encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. I strive to create a supportive learning environment that motivates students to be inquisitive and engaged, developing not only their flute-playing skills but also their broader musicianship.

What You Can Expect in Lessons:

• A customized plan designed to meet your specific goals, whether you’re preparing for auditions, performances, or simply want to improve your playing.

• A focus on both fundamental skills (tone production, technique, posture, breath control) and advanced concepts (phrasing, interpretation, concept of sound)

• Guidance on how to apply the technical and expressive elements of flute playing to various musical contexts, helping you become a well-rounded performer.

Whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced student, my goal is to help you enjoy the journey of learning music while developing a lifelong love for the flute.
